A young bird loses her feathers after a fall and is helped by some new friends to find new wings.

Mim is a pelican in search of food. Landing at the riverbank, she doesn’t notice a prickly acacia bush, and lands in it with a thump. With her feathers now in tatters and her home far away, Mim seeks support from a kindly Kookaburra who gives her a feather of his own. As other birds hear Mim’s plight, they too stop, offering their feathers. Eventually, with some river reed, Mim is given a new pair of wings to help her fly.
